  • Where is Tijuana?

Tijuana is located in Mexico, just 35 minutes from the San Diego Airport.

  • What is the difference between a clinic and a hospital?

Clinics can be set up anywhere and the Mexican Health Department does not strictly regulate them. Hospitals are regulated by strict guidelines just like in the United States.

  • Are you a certified hospital?

Yes, we belong to the American Hospital Association since 1991.

  • How long does the therapy last?

Therapies vary from patient to patient. The length of treatment is determined after the initial phone consultation, where the doctor will decide which type of treatment will be the most beneficial for the patient. Therapies can run from a 10-day program up to a 24-day program for cancer patients, and between 5 to 14 days for a detoxification program.

  • What about chemotherapy side effects?

Oasis of Hope Hospital offers an alternative cancer treatment specially made so patients do not have to suffer from chemotherapy side effects as they do when they take conventional therapy. The aggressiveness of cancerous tumors has increased making conventional cancer treatment even more aggressive and in turn worsening chemotherapy side effects. Oasis of Hope Hospital uses a multi-disciplinary approach when treating cancer. Therefore, only when it is absolutely needed and in the smallest necessary dose, conventional chemotherapy is used, but always in conjunction with natural cancer treatment. We know that chemotherapy side effects are devastating for patients, which is why we propose more effective, less aggressive and less toxic treatments.

  • How do I know which therapy is right for me?

As an alternative cancer treatment hospital, Oasis of Hope blends science, compassion, and faith in all that it does. The needs of each patient determine which therapies should be offered. Call Oasis of Hope Hospital and talk to one of our doctor specialists. The type of therapy you will be receiving is decided after your initial phone consultation. Cancer therapies at Oasis of Hope Hospital are custom made for each patient and reducing or avoiding chemotherapy side effects is one of our main objectives. Our therapies are made so that they improve patient's chances of survival without jeopardizing their quality of life.

  • What happens after I'm done with the therapy at the hospital?

Your therapy will not stop after the initial treatment protocol at Oasis of Hope Hospital. Aside from providing an intense and effective program for you while you are at Oasis of Hope Hospital, we will train you to continue therapy on your own once you have gone back home. Our patient information indicates that there is a direct correlation between home therapy compliance and patient survival. Simply put, the outcome of your therapy depends completely on how well you comply to the therapy once you go home. Our doctors will design your home therapy program and explain it to you while you are still here. Our doctors will also call you periodically once you go home in an effort to support you further. Most patient’s benefit by returning to Oasis of Hope Hospital for a booster program (3-5 days every three to six months).

  • Do I have to come back for a follow-up?

After your initial treatment at Oasis of Hope Hospital, we encourage you to come back for follow-up visits. It has been our experience that patients who return periodically tend to recover faster and have better long lasting results. Follow-up visits are the most effective way for us to make any modification to your home therapy program as well as for you to clarify any part of the treatment with your doctor. Your health is very important to us and to circumvent any financial difficulty, we offer a follow-up program at no additional cost. The follow-up program consists of ten visits over a five year period to Oasis of Hope Hospital, one every six months after your initial inpatient program. You will receive a complete explanation of the follow-up program during your initial inpatient program.

Each visit includes:

  • One consultation with an Oasis of Hope Hospital physician.
  • Review of your medical history.
  • Lodging for one night at the Oasis of Hope Hospital for patient and companion.
  • Three meals for patient and companion.
  • Free round-trip shuttle from the San Diego airport to Oasis of Hope Hospital for the patient and companion.

* Though you will be responsible for your travel expenses, KEM, S.A. Laboratories will offer a 10% discount on all KEM, S.A. products you need to continue Oasis of Hope Hospital home therapy. This will help offset any expenses you might incur in your return to Oasis of Hope Hospital.
